NEV Three-Electric System Solutions
Supply and diagnostics for the three core EV systems — battery, motor and electronic control — with HV safety procedures and recycling channels.
What "three-electric" service covers
In a battery-electric or hybrid vehicle, the three-electric powertrain — traction battery, drive motor and motor controller — accounts for most high-value service work. Unlike conventional engine repair, it combines high-voltage safety requirements, electronics diagnostics and mechanical fitment, and it needs parts supplied and matched at system level rather than one part at a time.
Traction battery: three different levels of intervention
Battery work is often discussed as one subject, but it covers three levels that should not be confused with each other:
- Module and cell level — replacing individual modules or cells where the pack design permits, followed by balancing and capacity verification.
- BMS diagnostics — reading cell-voltage spread, insulation resistance and temperature-sensor behaviour to establish whether the fault lies in the cells, the sensing harness or the control unit.
- Insulation and safety systems — service disconnects, contactors, fuses and the high-voltage interlock loop.
Any pack-level intervention must begin with the manufacturer's de-energising and lockout procedure. A pack opened without following it is a safety hazard, however well the cells test afterwards.
Drive motor and controller
For most aftermarket applications, permanent-magnet synchronous and induction motors are serviced at assembly level. The practical questions are whether the mechanical interface (mounting pattern, shaft, cooling connections) and the electrical interface (resolver or encoder type, connector keying, coolant specification) match the original — not simply whether the power rating looks similar.
High-voltage safety: the non-negotiable basics
- Only trained technicians using rated insulated tools and PPE should work on live high-voltage systems.
- Isolate and verify the absence of voltage before disconnecting any high-voltage connector. Never rely on the contactor state alone.
- Respect the manufacturer's waiting period after isolation — capacitors retain charge.
- Damaged, swollen or water-ingressed packs must be stored and transported under the applicable dangerous-goods rules.
End-of-life batteries
Second-life and recycling routes are increasingly regulated at the destination market. Whether a used pack may be exported, re-used or must be recycled locally depends on the destination's rules and on the pack's condition documentation. Plan this before committing to a purchase, not after.
What we supply
We supply NEV electrical components including pumps, relays, switches and sensors, and we confirm references with buyers before order. Provide the OE reference, vehicle model and year, quantity and destination market, and we will confirm availability and interface details. High-voltage battery and motor assemblies are quoted case by case.
Scope of this guide
This article is a general overview of three-electric service categories for buyers and workshops. It is not a work procedure. High-voltage work must follow the vehicle manufacturer's procedures and applicable local regulations and must be carried out by qualified personnel.
